Why Handcrafted Soap? For starters, the range of scents and qualities just cannot be paralleled by any mass-marketed, commercial brand of soap. Commercial companies are interested in profits, and therefore, must sacrifice quality for quantity. Natural ingredients are more expensive, and often take extra care to work with. Their shelf lives are shorter than their synthetic counterparts, and they must be handled more delicately. That doesn't bother us, because our goal is different than those large manufacturers. The Natural Bar Soap Company is interested in the art of soapmaking, and in finding the right blend of natural oils to create a bar that is actually good for your skin. Luckily, Mother Nature has provided ingredients for every skin type and for every individual's taste, and artisan soapmakers embrace the challenge of creating perfect bars for each of them. Selecting just the right unique scents from nature's pantry of essential oils. Balancing the coconut oil which produces super lathering, bubbly bars, with olive oil that produces more of a creamy, emollient bar. Experimenting with luxury butters like Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter that leave skin with a lavished and incredibly soft feel. Every batch is an attempt to create that illusive Perfect Bar. And we've found success! Creamy Dreamy coconut soap- Our great all-around, all-skin types bar. Triple Buttercream Bar- loaded with lather and luxuriously moisturizing. Peppermint and Green Clay- our oil defying, detoxifying soap with an invigorating scent. It basically comes down to this. We are absolutely obsessed with formulating The Perfect Bar of Soap using natural ingredients.
So, couldn't a commercial soap company just use natural ingredients and come up with better soap than those synthetic things they make? They could, but it would cost them more, and take more effort. The Natural Bar Soap Company believes that the majority of the work involved in making a batch of soap should be done by hand. Not only is it fun, but it gives us great quality control. We take great pride in the fact that our hands are involved in every step! This includes the creation of the recipe- selecting just the right oils, butters and Essential Oils to create a soap with the qualities we're seeking. It involves weighing, measuring, heating and blending the ingredients together. Finally, it requires the pouring and cutting of our bars, and the turning of each one over a period of weeks to ensure they cure and dry to perfection. Our soaps represent the best of handcrafted techniques.
