Olive Oil Soap

Olive Oil has been used since antiquity as a mild and gentle cleanser. Soap made with olive oil retains these same properties, and contributes to a lasting bar soap with lovely, soft, creamy lather. When blended with other oils, harder bars can be crafted that showcase the olive oil's excellent conditioning ability. There are several names for olive oil soaps which may be confusing for people interested in purchasing them. Castile soap, named for the Castile region of Spain, is traditionally 100% olive oil soap. Savon de Marseille refers to olive oil-blend soaps made in the hot processed, milled tradition of the Marseille region of France. Bastille soaps require a large percentage of olive oil in their formula, but may have other oils added to improve the properties of the finished bar soap. We offer several Bastille soaps, including one that is hypoallergenic, and fragrance free, and several that have beneficial essential oils and botanicals for beautiful scents, textures and colors.
